How important is it to have multiple coil choices for your detector? What exactly are the advantages and does your location dictate which coils you should have? Thanks for the replies in advance!  Beer Chug

The biggest reason I see is to have them before the model is discontinued. When I bought my Garrett Groundhog all those many years ago, I bought 4 extra coils of different types. Never regretted it. Now they are very hard to find and I have them lined up, pretty as can be, for whenever I need them.

Read the capability of each coil you want and decide if you will ever need those. Be practical and you'll be fine.

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.

A+   on that one GD.

Wish I never sold the 1" probe coil I had.

You never see that stuff any more.

Smaller coils pick between the Junk quite well.

Prospecting they go between the Rock good.

See the Smaller stuff a bit better too.
