just checking the web and say a few people mention to seal your cover on to the detector (silicon )so I'm looking for pros and cons. I have noticed after every trip taking off the cover its has dirt grime wet in between the coil and cover no to mention every time I take the cover off I feel like it will break

LOL!   Tooth paste.   Works to keep the dirt out and comes right off when you want it to.

 Shocked

Any thing but Bubble Gum!  LOL! Smiley

The gel type is not as good.

It even works if your working in water.

Fills the gap an keeps the junk out.

Comes out with warm water and cover will come off like it was not there.   Try it.

Go Up Go Down

 Hello NY shooter
Yep I went through the same thing. And yes I used silicon on my first machine cover. It did a good job of keeping all the grit out.Yes it was a be otch to get it off for the end of season cleaning,as a matter of fact I cracked the cover after trying to pry it off.So for me I will not do that again.actually all the covers for the machines that I now have has a pretty tight fit and I usually used duct tape on the outer edge. It's not really water tight but if I am detecting in wet grass or water I take off the cover and wipe off the inside and coil, pop it back on a little tape around the edge and I'm ready to go next time out.

The toothpaste seal has caught my attention and I will for sure give it a try and check that out. Thanks Homes
