Be sure to check in the "waterline" itself. Your coil should be submersible. Folks wading about "knee deep" also lose goodies.

I'd guess that far more rings are lost to a combination of sunscreen, water, and play than "pissed-off lovers".  Any ring that is deliberately thrown will likely be a lot further from shore.  Don't worry, people lose rings all the time even when they are happy and having fun.

i have a bounty hunter.  it seems to be ok.  since it is a hobby and will only be a hobby i found mine on ebay.  I found 3 pop cans, 4 bottle caps, 2 pennies, and one quarter.  After time i figured out how to ignore the bottle caps and cans.  What i was impressed with was the cans were 8 inches deep in the sand.  I am going to go our on wednesday mornings for my serches.  covered 1/4 of the beach i went to last week.
