Lets try this again, my gosh darn fat fingers keep hitting the worng button and I instantly go into epic fail!! Angry.

My BHQD II keeps giving depth of 4-8 inches when the item i actually find are 90% of the time only 2-4. SOmetimes its on the money for depth but seem to be off MOST of the time.

I have tried adjusting the sensitivity and notch knobs but cant seem to get it right. Coffee

Let me know of any tricks. Thanks, renegade

No Mate, They just dont tell you this in the manuals or the wording is not spot on.,
I dug a small brass washer the other day and it said 4 to 5" and when i eventually found it
I was down to 9 1/2" , it drove me nuts coz i only dug a small hole in hard ground so
it was hard going,

Ren think you will find the depth meters and ID read out is wrong 90% of the time. Also think you will find that many old timers ignore it completely and rely on sound and tone to id target

Ridge and seldom, thank a bunch Clapp Pray, I have been getting pretty comfortable with the tone, and good with the pin pointer too.

There's a depth indicator? Never noticed.

ID & depth metal detectors are only taking a guess at depth & type of target, as stated by the renouned elite members of this forum its wrong more than 1/2 the time (not a very good record).

If you rely on faulty information you miss good targets.

That is why so many people go to beep & dig machines so they are'nt influinced by the faulty information input into their decision process to dig or not.

The best MDerst usully dig it all anyway......My two cents
