Go Up Go Down

I find alot of trash digging in my horse pastures.  Should I dig everything since it is on my property to clean it up, or should I discriminate out all the iron and just dig the good signals.  I am using fisher 1260x with the #1 disc on 2.5 and #2 disc on 4.5.  I normally dont dig unless I get a good signal on 4.5 or above.  Am I using this machine correctly?  I want to find lead, brass and nickle and copper.  Im not interested in darn mountain dew 12 oz cans and zima beer caps that the previous owner seemed to like ALOT.  Any help would be appreciated.  Especially from people with experience with the Fisher 1260x.  Thanks, Carnage1on1.

I suggest you dig everything. Then once the area is cleaned out of junk re hunt it and you may find some good stuff.

Thanks for the suggestion.  I'll clean the place out.  I got a lot of digging to do.  Thanks Detecting

I find alot of junk myself in pastures. I went down and bought a $40 36in. 50lb. magnet on wheels (kind roofers use to pick up nails). I plot out an area and run it over it real quick...then I start detecting. Its amazing how much stuff that thing can pick up. I hope this helps with your Zima caps. (btw- do they still make that stuff?)

Dig it all. When you finish covering an area, go over it again. And again. And again. You will never clean out a pasture. If it has history, like being used in the past as a horse racing circuit, all the better. If not, a couple of hundred years of farming use should produce a few goodies after you clear out the trash. Discriminating in a relic area is a fool's choice.
