Go Up Go Down

My grandson received his new F2 this morning and we took it for a spin in my yard. after he passes over something that creates a signal and doesnot return to it, the display returns to zero and shows the identification bars. My F2 ,on the other hand displays and stays on the last reading unless i turn it off and on.
Which one is correct and are we doing something wrong with one of them?
Thanks
Conner

First check the batteries, detectors get funky with low batteries.Mine stays on the last reading until I turn it off. I would give fisher a call about the one that doesnt. Or exchange it where you bought it.

Thanks a bunch. That was the problem. changed batteries in his and now retains last reading. Sure is weird. the batteries tested good. Could it have reset something when removing batteries?

I have a Bounty hunter LS that does the same thing on low batteries.

Funny how it's made by the same folks.

All the digital detectors get funky on low batteries. It will drive you nuts if you dont look at the battery meter and realize thats the problem lol.

Overhill,

As others have said, you have to check the law in your jurisdiction but may also want to check with a lawyer. Some places have free legal advise but I would not put a lot of credit on those. The problem with some of the advise (regarding keeping it mum and keeping it) is that if you do this, and if there is a technical violation of the law, then it may demonstrate your intent to violate the law. If someone catches you on this issue, the judge may not be so impressed that the jewelry was 'truly' lost and found. Notwithstanding this, you may have to pay back the value of the item plus penalties, court costs, etc.... It's just not worth the trouble.. My cheap advise is to take a photo, get a receipt from the police and then check with the law of the jurisdiction. Normally, the police can confiscate if there is a belief that the item is stolen. After a reasonable period of time it should be returned to you if no one claims it. The only reason the police should not return it to you is in the case that the item itself is illegal to own (such as drugs or illegal weapons). Coloma Gold
