Bounty Hunter  Qwik Draw II
« on: June 17, 2011, 04:15:11 pm »
Go Up Go Down

OK, SO I went to a park that in the winter time is a sledding slope. Beside that is a picnic area. I am using a Bounty Hunter Quick Draw II, I seem to have been getting a lot of false reports. I did find one old 9MM or .38 bullet.

When I would get a hit I would perform the cross the spot, like I was trained in the Army using mine detectors. If the signal seem strong and steady I would dig in that spot to the a little deeper than the indicated depth. NOTHING.

Another thing that was screwing me up was it would give a signal hit in one direction of swing but not when I tried to cross the spot.

Any suggestions? Huh? Detecting

Could be ground mineralization, Foil scraps or just junk.

You don't say if your using Disrim or not.

Try turning the Sensitivity down a click or two?

I was on Auto Notch since this was my first time out with it. I will try that next time.

For the most when your Xing a target you want a good solid hit in each direction, anything less is probably scrap, then maybe not.Once you do more digs and get to know your machine you will have a better idea of good targets from scrap.
Just remember that no detector is 100% at identifying an underground target. That's where knowledge, skill and some luck come into play.....
Good luck with it all     Great

On my BH QD II there is a button called Auto Notch. It supposedly automatically notches out foils, pulltabs, and scrap. Well not true, yesterday on Autonotch I found more gum wrappers than anything else.
