well im still a newbie.. but this is my 5th post. . . nd still havnt got a detector. . i want a good 1. . hahahaha. . . . . . moneys tighter than the wife. . . so will have to build 1 !!. . my next door neighbour will be very usefull when this begins. . . he just doesnt know it yet!!!  ahhaha. . . . any how i found this place on google earth. . . ive kept the photo to a minimium. .and not saying where it is. . .  for obvious reasons. . . if any one can say this might be a good place to hunt. . . thanks for any info or suggestions. . . . hope pic looks ok, , had to chop it etc

no probs. . . but thanks. . . . . . ive been reading lots of stuff etc. . and by my understanding this is what you look for in the uk. . . but is only my guess. . . any experienced detectorists from the uk have any ideas. .

I agree with GD.....I'd definitely hunt that area.   And unless you want to pay for the detector over a long period of time, it would probably cost you a lot less to buy a good second hand detector than to build a halfway decent one from scratch.  If you feel confident enough to build one from scratch, you might even consider buying one that requires minor repairs (but I'd be real careful about doing that).

hey thanks. . . i hopefully will be searching the area. . but not till after xmas. . . hahaha. . . . . been busy salvaging parts  Undecided . . . . im not a genious with electronics either but friend next door is quite good . . so will be trying to build 1. . . . . hopefully it might work !!! Craigslist has several detectors for sale in my area. Building one sounds fun, but you could get started having fun sooner buying a used one. Now I have seen Detectors for $30 bucks at Harbor Freight, and you could hit the sandboxes at school to save up for that 1st detector. I also collect and sell aluminum cans, they are .50 cents a pound here. Just a couple of ideas for ya.
