Don't overlook the plug or the point where it comes out of the coil. If the detector is under warranty, just take it back to the store.

A bad day at gold prospecting or metal detecting is better than a good day at work.

It has a six month warranty. I have sent a message to the vendor.

This delay will make my first time metal detecting all the sweeter.

Just checking to see if you have received a response from the vendor....hate to see a beginner get frustrated because of equipment.

Yes they requested I send them the control box.
They promptly sent me a replacement.

I assembled the parts and gave it a whirl in the yard.

It beeps constantly. Beep beep beep beep .... Each beep is maybe half a second.

Completely baffled.

Doesn't matter what setting. It just beeps.

Just thinking about it makes me want to cry.

I feel your frustration.  Been in a similar position before.  I'm thinking Xavier, Homefire, or one of the other more technical members might have some practical solutions to the new problem.

One question, is there a change in the tone or frequency of the beeps when you pass the coil over metal?   Knowing details like that will help.

Could very well be that the problem is the coil,or they send you an other faulty unit.
i would send them both back and ask for a replacement. ASAP

Yes it looks like the coil or the pins in the coil plug. Send it all back. Send them that video too.
