New to the game, and as winter sets in trying to learn as much as possible. So my question, do you use headphones while md'ing, and why or why not.
Thanks...

I do.  I'm hard of hearing, headphones help focus the signals and helps me hear them better.

I use them.
The sound of the detector can be heard for very long distance in the bush, or the beach.
I don’t want others to know where I am and what I am doing

Dollar Store Ear  Buds.      I too need to hear what's going on around me.   Snakes and the Two Legged kind.     I can hear through the Buds.       I do like top quality Head phones if allowed to us them but Found I can destroy the $100.00 phones as fast as the $1.00 buds.   LOL

I use them, especially when out hunting with others for the reasons mentioned.  The biggest reason NOT to use them is to be able to hear snakes and folks coming up behind you, especially when you are either alone or in a very small group.
