I believe that Garrett only has a 2 yr warranty, but the other two have 5 year.

Ive been looking around at alot of metal detectors- The Tesoro Compadre is really appealing to me, but I saw a review that said its not good for the beach  :-
Both the Garrett ACE 250 and the Fisher F2 also apeal to me, since they have depth and pinpointing capabilities.
The Bounty Hunter Tracker IV's price is very attractive, but some people say that they are "toys".
Anyways, Im stuck inbetween these choices, so if someone could gimme some input on this that'd be great! Smiley

Jo Don't think they're toys If you comepare them to an etrac or a V3i or even my machines, Price wise they maybe But
they can and DO the job very well Half of the things that are on some over priced machines 99.99% of people never use
So why pay for what you won't use. Buy what you need not what the Advert in a Glossy mags says you need.
ALL of the guys here have given you some good advise, The f2, and BAs favorite the f4, tesoro's and bounty hunters
are all perfect for the job buy the one that does the deed and you like the most. and stop worrying.
These guys who have commented are as good as it gets and their comments are based on experiance and the best bit
is they are not trying to sell you anything so you know they're right. good luck

Ps dont worry about long warrenties coz you will out grow your detector in a while so as your knowledge grows
    so will your machines

Hey, I'm new to the website and somewhat to metal detecting. I've used my dad's metal detector before- a White's 5900 Pro?- and I am ver interested in getting a metal detector of my own. My max budget is 200 bucks, and I'm looking for something reliable, user friendly, and that can detect deep. I plan on mainly going to beaches and parks.

The Garrett AT Pro is a nice machine for beach and even in the water down to 10 meters. It's a fine all around detector.

No matter what you decide, do it quickly. The faster you get out there, the faster you will start finding treasure that adds up to a new machine should you want one. Or a vacation. Or a nice new LCD TV. Or whatever you like.

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.
