You will need to take points of reference if you can, use some fishing line to make a grid on the area that you want to work then number each piece of you grid you will need to make a detailed drawing of the area that you are working on, place pegs to mark the area that has been worked then move your grid across. In this way you will not miss a spot of land but it's a lot of work you could also use straight lines depending on the size of your swing will depend the space between the lines there isn't an easy way of doing this but if you work in a systematic way you will progress quite rapidly.

What
I would do is print out the property in GoogleEarth and in pencil mark out your search areas,,,,,, then do one of the sections at a time, marking it out with string using the grid and start searching,,,, if you use trails also on your mobile phone, it will confirm that you have done it fully.....

Yep, Do your marks on Google Earth.

Plan your attack and with Compass and String set some wood picket post.

Line them up best you can with a sight line to keep them streat like you would if biulding a Fence.

A Pocket Laser will keep the line good enough.

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.
