I recently purchased a minelab xterra 505 and ever since  I have been hounded to buy a whites,fisher,Tesoro...Now that Ive learned how to use my detector..it has worked fantastic.I even took it to a whites dealer to compare with a similar model of price and ability..It was a liitle more money..but no difference..AT ALL..Its accurate..lightweight..and fit my price...is there something Im missing?...i used bountyhunters for 5 years for god sake....talk about crap!!!I understand minelab makes better models and when I find enough to pay for this one,,I will upgrade..any opinions out there on minelab products?

Who is hounding you to buy a dfferent MD? Is it your friends or a dealer? If it's a deler he just wants another sale. If it's your freinds it's because they feel they own the better MD. You just keep making good finds. Your doing just fine. Good luck to you.

Yeah, I know what you mean---Dried up rivers and lakes open up all kinds of possibilities.   While my folks were in Germany, the Mosel practically ran dry at Trier one year.  People were finding all sorts of Roman and Medieval artifacts in the river.

Cool.....if you had a Boy Scout in the family, he could wear that as a neckerchief slide.
