Detecting with my Ace 350 has been an adventure to say the least. I was thinking I have some good places to detect but my results have not shown that!!!  The neighborhood I grew up in states that it was started in the 1800's. This site was the location of the local Mason Hall, which was here when my mom was a kid. She was born in '33. This is a pic of my finds, but I haven't given up but waiting until we get more rain as the ground is rock hard!!!
{alt}

This is a few of the cans foil old electrical ballast and bottles I've found!!!  I need the Coin, Gold, and Silver Gods to shine their grace upon me!!!!!!

Welcome to this forum.

A little advice. Go over the same ground but much slower now that you have the trash out of the way. Listen for those faint targets and you will find tiny treasures one after the other.

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.

Well we got a good amount of rain today so digging would be better. We haven't had any real rain this summer, we are just getting over forest fires in the last few weeks.

As mentioned previously, getting the most out of detector is a learning process....just have to be patient and pay attention to what you do and what you here.   (and softer ground is definitely a blessing)

If you did a grid search, come at it next time at a different angle. And as GoldDigger1950 said, go slow. The more junk you dig up the less to interfere next time.

Haven't been able to get back out yet, I'm looking to to hit where the old rodeo arena was located in my neighborhood also.

Watch out on the ballast especially if leaking. The older ones were pcb contaminated.

I used to remediate pcb transformers when I worked for GE.

Well my title is still intact!!!

A bag full of trash and 0.27 in clad. I guess you could say I'm moving up in the world, as my last trip yielded 0.12 in clad!!!  Wooohooo
