Would love to detect an 1850's yard!!

So would I. Like I said, I've been saving the hunt for when I run out of other places or when we get a TH visitor. Xavier is going to try to beat you over here!

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.

Hmmm, well, perhaps Xavier and I can arm-wrestle for the position or  Boxing... Smiley  Anyway... can I call you when we are in the area? Let me know your number if it works for you.

Absolutely. I'll PM my phone numbers to you.

Gee, remember a long time ago when using the plural "numbers" meant that you were a hot shot for having two phone numbers? Now, everyone has at least two of them.

Any of you remember the old phones that didn't even have a dial.  It just had a crank to connect to the operator!                  Wise

Admit it, Arfie. You've only seen them in the movies. They went out of use in the 1930s.

I had one of those.    True BS!

No one could make a call on it because they didn't know you could Tap out the Number with the Cradle.

Everyone knew that. That was the only way to dial them, Homefire.

I wish I could say that GD!   Grin   When I was a child in the early '50's that is what we had in our house.  It is the phone I learned to call on...  party line and all!  We got a dial phone in the mid-'50's,  but still had to dial the operator, and still had the party line.  By the way, did I tell you I grew up the in the back hills boonies of northeastern Oregon?!      Progress did not come early to that part of the world!  (I guess I should say "this part of the world!"  I came back home after the service and never got away again.                   Wise

LOL!    In the old days you just tapped a few times to bring up a light on the Switch Board.

You could Tap out a regular phone number if you had a smooth hand on the Rotory Phone Lines.

Most folks was Clueless.
