If you want to go up a little in price that is OK.
You get a few more Bells and Whistles and features.
Make a list of what you want in a detector.
Type of soil you will hunt.
Does it need to be water proof?
How much separation of targets will there be where you hunt?
Go to a web site and read all about the different types they offer.
What they list as the advantages of one over the other for a certain type of terrain or water.
That will help you decide whats important to you and by price is it worth it to you.
Lots of people here to help you.
You know everybody has a different car, and can brag about there model.
Question is what will fit your needs for you.
I just bought a up grade machine myself Garrett AT Pro.
It will fill some areas for me and do the job I think I need.
I was in need of some new features, like my other machine but needed some more bells and whistles.
Water proof a big one. Closer target seperation a plus.
To hunt the places I want to hunt.
May not be for you.
But like you I hunt yards, and it will give me a better separation between targets.
That should give me a chance to see items close to each other in the ground.
Plus its water proof to 10 feet Garrett says. So when I go back to the beach I will not have the fear of dropping it in the water. I do water on vacation but not the rest of the year. See choices.
I worried about dropping my ACE 250 in the water are getting caught in the rain with it. So I liked that feature.
See I made a list of features and what I could afford and went from there.
Garrett has a how to Learn and Explore link at there web site. Its under the hobby division link at he top of there web site.
I recommend go there and watch the videos on each model in this section.
Will help you be aware of features you may not have thought of. Then when your all done checkout some other sites.
Fisher, Tersoro, etc and compare features and your needs.
Yes it will take a couple of evenings to do.
But it beats buying a unit then only turning around looking for another shortly after that.
Get the features you want, give the machine you purchase a chance. That means hours of use before saying that machine just does not work?
Drove my autos for years, after I researched what I needed. One 25 years another 18 years.
Do your homework first not after you buy?
Hope this helps, everyone has a different need and purpose that's why they sale so many models.
