Go Up Go Down

I just picked up a Minelab X-Terra 305 and the hobby og metal detecting this weekend. I've read the manual and watched some videos. I found out that like most things, on the job is the best training. I searched my yard in the all metal mode and found many things. I then ventured to a local football stadium that I had permission to seardh. Wow, at the trash that's underground.
I used pattern #1 and rejected soda cans, foil, pull tabs, and the fencing. I was still getting a lot of 28 and 44 hits that when I dug them turned out to be pull tabs, nails, and rusty bolts. I did find some clad though. Had a blast. Anybody have any suggestions to tune my machine better?

Yes. As I said before to other new members.
Give your self some time. Put some detecting hours under your belt before you start changing the settings of the machine.
The machine is talking to you, but you don’t understand the language. You will in time.
Then will be a lot easier to do changes that’s relevant to your type of hunt, and area you are in.
By the way welcome to the forum

I am a newbie myself and have been getting to know my Xterra 705.  I learn something new every time out.  Finding a fair amount of clad and got my first gold this weekend, a 10K ring with three small diamonds.  Like I said, getting out and learning something new every time out there!
