Go and Wiki "Seismic source".  I can't understand why a type of sonar would not work also.  I know they use it for oil exploration so it may just be for very deep targets.  I would think the concept of looking for the echo from a siesmic wave should work very well.  However I would think the frequency would have a bearing on details visible as well.

 Just a thought for research.

Why spend many thousands of dollars?and what do you think, people we think we already get a odd look from folks with just the detector& head phones but your going to need an excavator to reach them voids and most have enough problems getting permission to dig an area with a shovel, the smart thing would be a nice Minelab and a lot of learning  Grin

No no no no you did not get the picture. Just imagine that you own a castle and you know that there is a tunnel hidden in this great big place but you don't know where.
What you will need is some sort of device (equipment) to find this tunnel, you don't really want to tear the place down now do you? so no excavator.

OK point taken but even a void at 12 feet deep would be a hard dig and no one would let you break a hole in a castle or an old structure, unless your the American digger LOL!!!!!BOOM BABBY!!!! Cheesy

Actually he dose and that's why he wants our help to find the right device to get the job done. But how do you help somebody when you don't have a clue as to what sort of thing and in what king of terrain he wants to work?

Well he is asking for a machine that has not been invented yet, when told that what he wants was imposable with today's technology he wants to cop an attitude and start locking threads. All he had to do was supply us with all the info and someone could have told him what he need and how to go about getting it.

Yes I totally agree with you Seldom but sometimes when you have been researching stuff related to treasure hunting you can get quite frustrated I know because it has happened to me. When researching coils I found that I was going round in circles and had it not have been for the help that I got from GD I probably would have gone made with frustration. You see they will only give you the basics of how it should function (Especially in schematics) so if you do not know how to work it out well you'll never have a fully functional machine and they know it. Now the question is why do they even bother posting a schematic if they don't want you to get it working? things they will do is not give the specs for the coil or reverse some transistors nasty stuff really. As for detector and their performance well we all have seen the guys that claim that there detectors can detect or can see buried treasure a mile away, it's a bloody joke but some folks will fall for that scam as they have no knowledge regarding detectors and the technology available to us, remember the digital cameras can see gold joke well some folks still believe in it.
