Bounty Hunter Sharp Shooter II
« on: October 12, 2011, 11:05:02 am »
Go Up Go Down

I just got a Bounty Hunter Sharp Shooter II. Was wondering what the chances of finding something buried 30+ years. When me and my brother were younger we buried this little metal box with toys etc in it. At first i think it was just going to be we'd open it again in a couple weeks or so. I guess by that time we'd of forgotten just what was in it. At first we had it sitting up in a tree, then we thought we'd dig a hole and put it in. Far as i can remember we never did dig it up after that, though i can't say for sure if my brother didn't dig it up later and do something with it or buried it somewhere else. I was able to go back to the house we lived at the time, but in what i thought was the general area the detector on all metal ended up beeping a lot in that area. Is there any chance of actually finding it if it is still there? It was almost like a small toolbox, far as i know the thing could of rusted away. Or the people who lived there after etc might of planted trees and found the thing.

If its still there your Sharp Shooter II will find it. But like many treasure it may have been found long ago all you can do is look.

Seldom

It would be a fun search.   You might enjoy this podcast from one of our other members with the same dream (originally posted on October 28, 2010).

I was out in the back yard practicing with my detector and found a Hot Wheels Car of my son from the 80's.....It was
not buried but probably forgoten and left outside when he was younger......It was down about 6 inches......Cleaned up
nice and looked like it did not rust up a bit. I oiled the wheels and gave it to him....He is 36 years old! Rider

I've thought about asking my brother about it. To see if he remembers it and if we did ever dig it up later. About the only thing i remember putting in it was this clear plastic block with a picture of Yogi Bear in the middle. There also was a tornado that went through the area and i noticed some trees laying in that part of the yard. I don't really remember just how many trees there were when we lived there and how many other people who lived there might of put trees in. What settings should i try when looking for it? I just tried the one time and had it on all metal. And felt it was kinda pointless when the thing just started beeping a lot in what i thought was the area. I was 5-6 maybe younger when we buried it. I pretty much forgot about it till a few years ago, then started wondering if it was possible it was still there.
