I've been looking into doing the odd bit of panning and perhaps even some recreational gold mining. Living in the Forest of Dean I have heard suggestions that it wouldnt be a complete waste of my time. Any ideas guys? Any advice and knowledge would be helpful! Cheers

Welcome to the forum.
Well…have you done any panning before?
If you haven't the first thing you should do is mix some birdshot pellets with dirt and try to find them with the pan.
Panning its not that easy, you need to learn how to do it.
So practice at home. Start with 10 pellets. When you manage to find all of them then go out there you may be surprised.
