Hi Arfie Boy,  I thinking back would first think am i really getting a call about this  lol  but then probably tell the guy to move on so good point. This seems like an awesome group and I appreciate everyone's replies. I can say in all my past experience never received a call on a metal detectorist (sp).

Oh and one thing i've learned in my life is try to shut up and learn from veterans, so not sure about the shut up part guys. But I'm hoping to bug y'all and get the wiley crafty veterans way of detecting.

One way of finding places to hunt is look at the place as it used to be. Then if you decide to hunt, go to the local county propety assors office an tell them what you want the info for and where the proerty is. most of the time they will tell you who oowns the place and how to contact them. Usally a phone call explaining what you want to do and assuring them you won't tear up thier property and won't sue them for any accidents that might happen, will get you permission. BTW Always offer to split what you find. My experiance is that you won't have to. Hope this is of help.

After permission and the crops are out. Walk the fields look for high places close to creeks. If you find small pieces of brick pottery glass that's where I find the old coins! Detecting
