Unfortunately in Polish but this guy claim to discriminate with a PI detector.

He however doesn't want to disclose how it's done

Hi and welcome, with PI machines you get a ramp up to then peak in sound the a ramp down on good targets and on junk targets the sound drops down the back up ,but some things can fool you and with minlab you've got differant soil timings on whites you've got a frequency/timing knob that you can tune the machine to either low conductive or high conductive, watch the videos on whites and minelab sites good luck , Shocked Shocked Shocked cor did i know all that wow mighty impressive???

re video posted be levetpp ,

just watched this vid , you say he doesn't sat how he did it ?

he doesnt have to , oval coil ?? suggests DD

alu beer can briefly went +- as he got realy close , DD

unsure if it's a pi , but quite sure its DD

anyway , all that trouble to only discriminate between fe and non-fe , he was still showing "good" for beercans and bottle caps made of alu , what the point of dicrimination if you still end up digging rubbish ,
he should have invented / made one that showed steel / iron and alu as neg / bad , everything else as good.

only a thought .  Smiley

Not saying it can't be done, just saying it has not been done.

With the nature of the beast the PI is would take a pile of samples run through a algorithm to do any sort of discrimination.

As it is all the Best can do is Eliminate targets.

Buy delaying the sample time you can Eliminate target response from fastest to slowest.


I think some one has Used a Notch timing that can pull out some targets.

Due to the Nature of the Earth,, that too is not Magic.  Things Change.

The PI is a Marvalous machine for what it can do.

It can not Discrim as a Phase Related VLF or TR machine to this date.

Homefire how does the TDI Whites work??? I had one and it seems it would knock out pull tabs and screw caps,however the depth endured when in disc. (grn bal) on the white.thanks

TID is nothing more then what a VLF detector See's as the receive signal.\\.

They just use a ADC   (Analog to Digital Converter) to show you a number.

These Numbers ARE NOT the same on all machines.

Even Whites numbers may defer from machine to machine.

Silverdog has already came up with most kits that are worth a build.

Based on this forum and Geotech he has done a crazy good job of it.

Cheap, Complete and PCB's that kick butt.
