Hello everyboody
I'm new into metal detecting . I have a Garrett ACE 250. I want to move further and buy another detector. I need one that can eliminate most of the ferrous junk. I mostly detect in forest and ploughed land.
I was thinking about buying the XP Goldmaxx Power. Tell me if it can do that, please.
Thanks for your time

Hello and  Welcome from North Carolina. I have a 250 also but might be looking
for a used minelab,  cheap. I want to get more into beach hunting. I am not sure
what your best bet is here but some one will have an answer for you.Good luck.ARR!

What are you hunting for? coins, relics, gold?
Usually plowed fields don't have a lot of scrap metal in them. Now on the other hand the woods can have many kinds of scrap metal all through it.
Sounds like you would have an interest in a detector with good discrimination, also the option to notch out any metal that your not interested in finding.
I don't know how long you been detecting or even how long that you have been using that ace 250.But I do know that just about any detector you use will find what your looking for if 1  you have to put that coil over a good target to make a good find,in other words you have to search in the right places. 2 you must know your detector and whats it's telling you, this will require lots of time with your detector to practice, practice, practice. You also must know what all the function on your detector do and how to and when to use them. This all takes time to learn but will benefit you in the long run.
I really have no suggestions for a new machine for you. This will be something that you will have to do,try some research on the net and check out reviews to see what you will need.
Once you know what you want to hunt this will make your decision much easier.

Good luck...
