Go Up Go Down

I am relatively new to this hobby, and I am having trouble finding research material. I am trying to locate info on 200 acres in Brazos County Texas, and so far, the Tax office has been of no help. Maybe I am being too narrow minded on what I'm looking for, I just want to know about past property owners, and old house locations on the property.  So far, the only thing I have found out is that this property was heavily wooded at one time. Lightening and tornadoes have taken all but a dozen trees, and there is a small concrete slab that can be seen on google, along with an old short road that leads from the highway to another road.  Any help or ideas would be great.  If I can find any good info, then I will talk to the property owner...in California!!

Thanks in advance for any help,
Bill

If your looking for info pre 1950 you may have to check the archives at the Brazos County library

Since you are in Brazos county and interested in Brazos county, you might also check the reference sections at the Texas A&M libraries....particular the Cushing Library (archival and special collections).   They may have more information than the Bryan library, but check the Carnegie History Center in the old Carnegie Library building first (111 S. Main St.).  That will probably be your single best resource of Brazos county historical material in the area (followed by the collections at the Cushing Library)

gig'em and good luck on the hunt.

Thanks for the info. I will look into the libraries when I have time off work. I didn't even know the Carnegie was anything more than an historic building in downtown. Learn something new every day!
BA, too bad the Lady AGGIES didn't do too well against Arizona.  Maybe next year.

Gig'em,
Bill
