Looks too Aggressive to me.

Loose the Willing to PAY thing.

I CAN HELP sounds a lot softer and less aggressive.

Loose the Photo!

Sorry but you look like a kid.

If contacted talk professional and meet them some place.

Come to a Agreement on Fee's  ( Travel time, Gas, Time on Job )  or Shares  ( I would do nothing less then 50% ) in writing before you get on the job.

A $2,000 weding ring should bring you at least 10% reward plus your cost.  Fee's~

If your unable to recover the object, your going to have a hunt paid by Fee's!    Contract Collateral finds are yours!

Try to get the Contractor to obtain Permission.

If not Add your time to the contract.

Look in Craigs List and see how much is put in Lost and Found---I think you will find most people only put in cats and dogs---I have thought of doing this but have only found two things to look for, I found Them but I did Not Charge---Most Detectore people will not charge for looking for lost things---If some one asks you to look you mite get a place to hunt for coins that you can keep

Reminds me of my neighborhood lawn mowing business I had when I was your age. If your getting into something really serious where you wanna do it full time and you'll be sending that flyer out all over, which I don't believe you will be doing cause of your age, than yea maybe lose the pic. but if it's a small time local thing than I think the pic is friendly and not a bad idea. Oh and also you might wanna keep personal info off the world wide web (phone number) just my opinion. Good luck and let us know if you get any business!

loose the pic,NEVER go alone, settle on a price b4 you met up(plenty of people would take advantage of a young buck like you),always carry a big digger,if you drive take your own car,NEVER "meet up"and just take his car to the hunting spot and ALWAYS let somebody know where your going.......and most of all be carefull and not too trusting

I agree...find a partner...even if they do not hunt...I would grid out an area, mark all promising signals with golf tees or Poker chips, then let my partner dig them...make sure to show your partner how to dig a proper plug/flap, and how not to damage a find...As stated above, keep your persoal safety ahead of your desire to earn a buck...NEVER go in someone elses vehicle, or step into someone you do not knows house...if possible, meet in a public place (McDonald's, Mall, etc.).

Good luck,

Great awareness on personal safety! above all else stay safe and aware of your environment. I would use a cell phone.

short story;
i was detecting on a beach a few years back and after a some what long day hunting the surf. tired and beat placed my detector in the trunk and slammed the lid. went to get in my car only to be horrified with the vision / memory i had of throwing my keys in the trunk also. i seen a lady walking two large dogs and talking on a cell phone. figured she felt safe enough for me to approach and explain my dilemma and ask to use her phone. she agreed and the call was placed for a new set of keys. she waited with me for the new keys to arrive and wanted to know more about the detector and was amazed it could go under water. she explained that she had lost a class ring in a lake and wanted to offer a large sum of money to get it back. my point is alot of people have missing things and dont even consider or think of a metal detector. hard to believe hugh?

Great post. That's the type of spirit I like to see in a forum. I'm pretty new to the whole forum thing, new to the hobby of metal detecting, and I like the idea anyone would want to see what they can do to better themselves by helping someone out. My mother lost one of her favorite earrings on a walk at Christmas time one year. We retraced the walk in the snow. Fortunately, I spotted the earring. But the whole time we were there, I was wishing I had a metal detector!
