Ive been looking up everything i can about my little town and find out that its been here since 1700 and made a town in the 1800, my main area was where a old mansion was, and is now a burger place but thats good , they never touched the area behind them with the woods are. Theirs a creek and rising hills. their were civil war troops all around us plus in the 1800 we had coal minning on top of the hill, Still can see the rock foundations of the old homes. where should i start detecting

Hello Old Miner,

Try to find any old trails or trenches for the civil war stuff. Look for old picnic areas and swimming holes. Imagine you were there in the 1700's, where would you put a house, look at the lay of the land. These are just a few ideas, good luck.

Hey thanks, I have been using detectors for years around ball fields and flat areas ,but not with anything that i would call good gear, Anyways their is old rock foundations that were their 40 years ago and it hasent changed. I watched U tube is searching on all metal the best way to start like i said i never had a good machine until now, and dont now how to listen for tones yet. Thanks again

Good Luck Anthony. I just found a new kick butt mode on my detector today. It was like using it for the first time. Many finds today. Man my back hurts. Listen to what it tells you. Everything is fine till someone gets.....turns on the all metal mode lol.
