Hi Folks,
Yes, I'm new. I've always had that "metal hunting" itch for some time. My first step was joining this message community, now I'm interested in purchasing a detector.
I would be interested in a detector for various things, from coins, jewelry to perhaps even some gold.
What would be the best detector to get me started for under $800?

Many thanks in advance.. and I look forward to hearing your finds and posting mine... maybe.

For your price range the MXT would suite you well. It is easy to use and a great all around machine for searching coins and gold, working well in heavy mineralized soil for a beginner you cant go wrong and priced at $660 fits your budget.
