Go Up Go Down

I just purchased an Whites Surf PI off of ebay. I went to the beach and only found iron objects. I go to this beach once a week and i always find coins, pull tabs, cans. So i did an air test with coins and rings. The detector could only read objects 1" away. It didnt even see any gold rings or platinum rings. It did see silver but only 1 inch away. I was wondering will it read different in the sand? Should i send it off to Whites for repairs? I did read topics on this site and did not see the answers i seek. Please help. Sad

Hi,
What kind of coil you have? Did you check batteries?
I think if you have 9.5" coil it should read 1 cent US coin 24cm away (this is how my DIY surf PI works).

There Ya Go!    Now go find some.   LOL

If your brave, there is a one resistor change mod that can make it even better.
