Heya,

so this may be one of those "I can't believe he asked that" question, but no one said I was the smartest pea in the pod  Cheesy

I have seen a few videos where the guy is either swinging super fast with big swings and I wonder how they get anything, to ones where it seems to be short slow swings...my question, does it make a difference how fast or how wide you swing?  I've tried both and have seen no difference, but then again, I may be doing them both wrong  Tongue

its one of those questions isnt it - not too fast but not too slow either is how i do it - i would suggest planting a few items and trying at different speeds  and see how many you pick up - if youre not getting them you know youre going too fast - the only problem may be that if youre going too fast you may miss that slightly deeper find - sorry - thats the best i can suggest Cheesy

Its not a race, take your time, you wont be able to lock onto to those fainter beeps of good targets swinging fast, take your time. Swing wide but with slower speeds, use headphones to help locate better targets and extend your battery life. Work it, find it, dig it, get it ! But have fun doing it.

Some older machines needed that speed to find deep targets. Cool

Interesting, not sure how old his Bounty Hunter is though, currently I prefer my MXT PRO and use it most often because its so easy to turn on and go, I keep it in my truck with me everywhere I go in case I get some time some place in my travels I can detect...LOL

Don't remember bounty hunters being like that but those old Whites machines sure were.

My BH is only a few months old, I'll use the "slow and steady" method when I hit the parks today.   Gonna be my first time out in over a week...looking forward to it Smiley

Homefire... I think the the Old Red Barron, RB-7 require you to swing it like a weed wacker to get any response.

I get hits swinging fast or slow but when I swing fast by the time I look at my display I dont know where I was swinging and I have a harder time relocating the fainter beeps. I had an older White's many moons of years ago and that thing you had to move to fast or it would discriminate out all the targets, was a real pain in butt, and heavier.
