Which would be better for finding gold nuggets at deeper depths, and is better suited for specializing in gold discrimination: the Tesoro Golden Sabre or the Tesoro Lobo?
Thanks in advance for the replies! Smiley

Oh. I plan to use it in and around fresh water streams in the canyons from snow melt. There are a lot of marble looking rocks. There is some black sand from my panning tests.

I also want to take it out around Moab, UT around the sandstones and through the desert.

Is there a better model I could make (without having to go head hunting for diagrams/schematics.. being easily found) that qualifies over the Tesoros?

If you have an electronic background there probable several machines that are better but will Homeie or GD suggest which is best to build.

I like to think I'm electronically apt... haha. I'm all ears for all opinions. I'd rather learn the easy way- by advice, then I would learn by the hard way- trying out each one and spending a fortune on parts.  Wink

You seem to be going off the rails here quite a bit right now. Relax and do some reading here rather than posting wild questions.

First of all, most prospectors would hit you over the head with a cast iron skillet if you even suggested discrimination when out in the field. They will almost all tell you that the only way to find gold is in the all metal mode.

Secondly, you can use the search block above or simply read the Gold Prospecting forum for more information than you could ever hope to get in a request about which is better this or that or, whoops, some other machine? If you keep this frenetic questioning up, you'll alienate some of the best users here.

Read first. That should take you a week or so. Then get back to us. Seriously. These things have been discussed here for years now and, guess what? They've been answered quite regularly.
