Well, as James allready said your budget will greatly determine the choice of machines. As a general rule try to get the best machine you can afford. We will be happy to make a recommendation based on your budget.

Best wishes,

Christian

Eric, I agree with Outback, the Tesoro Cibola is a hot little detector!
My wife has one, and the Cibola  has given her many many great finds.
Nice sharp signal, silent search, light and easy to swing and only runs on a single 9 volt battery.
A new Cibola will also come with a lifetime warranty.... Great

Tesoro has the best guarantee there is,I started out with BH202 used it for about 10yrs -now I got a F5,you can find stuff with them all but as far guarantees go -Tesoro.plus depends on where and what your looking for land ,beach ,water-coins, relics(old iron junk, buckles, etc.), jewlery.don't just buy one think of you plans for it.I'd look for a good all around machine

Whites machines XLT, MXT, Prisms, are close to your budget and are hard to beat in that $$$ range. The Fisher f5 is another one in that price range that would be a great dectector. Tesoro has a great rep but no personal experience there. Good luck and have a blast I am.
