That unit is a Chinese import unit and works OK but is not as rugged as the domestic model it's copied from. Be gentle with it.

Hope you get well soon and can get out and enjoy this neat hobby. I am new to metal detecting and this forum. I bought a tesoro compadre  about two weeks ago and I'm havin a ball. The ground is frozen here so I've actually resorted to detecting the dirt floor in an old garage,lots of metal there!!!!!!!!
