It is kinda what Christian said on the forum BEST BEGINNERS MD.    Hi! t-swing here. As you see on my profile I have an old Garrett Groundhog 28 yrs old & like every think else in life if you don't pursue it or your hobby you will not understand it fully. Anyways at the time this machine for me was a little complicated. Now that I'm older and have lot's more time on my hands. So any comments would be appreciated. White's DFX, Musketeer Advantage or Minelab X-Terra 705 . Thanks again & feel the history. T

What type of hunting do you do,,,coin, relic, beach, that might help..
I have used so many over the years, some of them 2 or 3 times.
I just got a Minelab E-Trac, going to take it out Sunday.
I have used the Explorer's, The X-Terras, 30,50,70, and the 705.
Also the MXT,Classics,DFX,QXT,XLT, all the CZ's,Coin Strike,I D Edge,
Shadow X-5,,Tesoro's, Garrett 1500.Compass.F-70,F-75....I may have missed some...

I like my CZ's and the Edge,
Hope the ET is a keeper, I have some friends that are finding lots of silver in hunted out parks.
They all find things.

Hi! BJ. Thanks for the help. I'm doing a lot of research on different MDs. I do like the E- track to although I think I might look at the Teroso Tiger Shark- all round. Any suggestions. Lots of freshwater lakes where I am + some battlefields. T-swing

Your Garrett Groundhog was way ahead of its time. The only thing I don't like about mine is the weight of it. I may build a more modern case and pole for it using modern materials.

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.

If you are going to buy a Tiger Shark, buy a new one, from what I under stand, Tesoro will only do the "Life time warranty" if you are the Org. owner, warranty card on file...
You could use it in the warter and on land, you can buy different size coils, and change them your self, thats a plus.
There are so many good units now to pick from, you could hurt your brain on thinking, witch one.

For the price of a new E Trac, you could own a water unit and a land unit...

Good Luck.
BJ

Thanks BJ for your reply. I'm still thinking about the shark until January. I'm going to a MD club meeting and there I will hopefully get a better understanding of this machine and there thoughts. T      Great

Well, you know what they say, they are all good, but it depends on how well you learn what unit that you have, learn what it is telling you.
I see your in Jordan, what brands can you buy there ??
And what kind of detecting will you be doing ??

Fisher ID Excel,

It sort of depends on what your going after. Are you just going to do parks and school yards? Then a nice mid prce coin machine would be you best bet. If your going after nuggets then, get a specialized detector jus for that.

If your going to spend the day doing it, because your treired like me  Waveing then you need a lite wieght one. I use a Fisher ID excel.

It's wonderful exercise but you need to do some lite streching before you get out there. I don't know about you, but I hate pain, and it can be avoided if you streach before. Detecting

Happy hunting
