This is a silly notion but old coins are where you find them. Nobody can guarantee you will find old coins based on such a broad question but just a bit of research can improve your odds. Go to your public library or a historical society in Galveston to see where old oceanfront parks are or were. Your best option is to just have it in mind that you are there for fun and recreation. Anything you find is a bonus. High traffic modern beaches on an early weekday are excellent places to hunt. You will find lots of lost items and the view of early morning joggers can be very rewarding.
Asking that kind of question here may or may not get an answer. The reason? A lot of beach treasure hunters like to keep their special places to themselves. That happens to be the nature of the beast in this hobby.

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.
