I recently purchased a Tesoro Cibola.  Having fun with it but wondering if I should upgrade the coil before expanding my areas (around swimming holes, creeks, rivers, etc).  It has a Monolithic (Carbon Fiber) 9x8 that it came with but I'm wondering if I need something different when hunting closer to and within shallow water?  Any ideas?  Thanks much.

I always find smaller coils handy.   You can work closer to fence lines and Tot Lot toys.

Better sensitivity to smaller objects at the cost of some depth.

Tesoro Searchcoils

COIL-7EC-G 7? elliptical concentric
COIL-8RC-G 8? round concentric

Optional scuff covers are also available for any Tesoro searchcoil.

I'll look up the info on these tonight.  Waiting this thunderstorm out right now before heading out to try my luck.  Thanks for all the info.

I've had more call for a smaller than standard coil (high trash areas) than I have had for a larger than standard coil (greater depth), but in the areas I hunt, nothing sinks far or fast.
