in doing extensive research i have found through past archives and snipits of conversations that you can design & build a bfo detector that will work in the 5-30 khz range, mainly by ajusting the known tank circuit in capatence area, further more amature radio tech manuals indicate that they are widely used in cw operation which means they build then all the time without a modulator, high power too. so all that one needs is a little patience and time and the elusive Super BFO is born ,the russians were the first to develop this after ww2 for minesweeping purposes for inovative gurilla warefare where landmines were hidden in different ways to avoid detection at shallow depts...so the fellow named XAVIER ....has it on the right track that it clearly be done......
