thanks for your contribution, I want share with you something even if it's OT.

you talk about the memories, well I was a kid in the late '70 so i miss all this "metal detecting fever" and making circuits like this I'm tring to catch a bit of those emotion that the old timers electronics enthusiast treasure hunters have experienced back in the days.

If you have some picture of those old circuits it will be wonderful.

If you want some circuit diagrams google Gary Chemac. His website has a lot of the old circuits plus parts lists. If you want to find gold, a BFO detector is a waste of time. You also will need a detector that operates at frequencies of 14 khz and higher and be of the VLF variety.

for the gold prospecting part:
yes thank you for information, i build the KVM metal detector just for fun and to give a try to big relics of WWII (i will use the inability to BFO to detect small objets as a discrimination feature).

Thanks for the jodate Nickle. I looked at the site yesterday snd it's still there. It ssys he was selling evevrythjng but i have no idea if that is still true as you say he passed away already.

Gary passed away Nov 7 2020.
looks like the web side still on,but maybe not for long.
giuhalftrac could not find the web page because the name was misspelled

ahhh so sorry to hear about that.. it is written in the website to.. (about some health issues). I already know the website but i didn't know the name of the owner.
Thank you to all, today I have managed to download all project that I'm interested too in the eventuality that the domain goes down.
