WONDERING IF YOU CAN BUILD A BFO ON A VLF FREQUENCY ........IS THIS POSSIBLE? FROM SAY 4khz range on up? Teach

Technically I can't think of why it would not work.

Most units made are running 100khz to 300 or so.

Lower freqs may be harder to produce the required frequency shift to be detected by BFO.

All components IE Coils and inductors would be quite a bit larger then required by the higher freqs.

Hi Gizmo

 You could make one using a phase shift oscillator or a bubba oscillator like they use in inverters I made one to run at 50Hz and its very stable and quite easy to make. You can also change the amplitude by changing the reference voltage up or down a bit. You could take a look at sine wave oscillators on the net as there?s lots of info on them.
