Hello Dave,

OKM is unfortunately a real scam company. I met some their folks back in '99 at the Wei?enstadt Treasure Hunting Meeting. These folks are an absolute stay away company.

Best wishes,

Christian

Christian,  Last year, we compared the OKM Rover-C, & Rover-C deluxe, with my Zond 12-C GPR,  for two days on a site in Homosassa, Florida USA. I was impressed with the comparable results obtained with the Rover-C and it's light weight ease of use. I would be happy to have  an OKM product to add to my Professional Treasure Hunting equipment.  Dell

Dell,

I'm sorry but I have to disagreed with you here. In my humble oppinion their so called GPR is nothing but a scam.

Why?

Because it is not a GPR. It is a "simple" Fluxgate Magnetometer nothing more nothing less. But calling it a GPR is just a false statement as GPR and Magnetometer are two totally different things by definition.

Also it is common sense amongst German treasure hunters that they are a scamm company. Their equipment has been fieldtested by various German treasure hunters with devastating results.

In my oppinion the Italian made Zond GPR is a great gear for a good priece while the equipment sold by OKM is just misleading and overpriced.

Also I've had the "pleasure" to meet the sellers of the early Future series back in '98 or '99 at the Treasure Hunting meeting in Wei?enstadt. They had published a magazine by the name of Striges back then. I approached them quite angry as they their magazine was full of BS. E.g. they took out pictures of a TV feature on my old buddy Tony Wells and made it a complete different story. Tony went by different name and the story was made up that it was them hunting with Tony on a shipwreck site which was complete nonsense. Tony was also quite angry at the story by then. Neither got Mel Fisher's name or his Atocha right but just made up bogus storries amonst real events.

So to sum up, my recommendation is to safe your money and buy a real GPR like sold by many quality manufacturers nowadays and to avoid phony deals like they are offered by OKM.

Best wishes,

Christian

OKM has a two page color ad in the  current Lost Treasure magazine.  Maybe they have advertised there before, I don't know.  The ad must have cost quite a bit.

Hi Christian.  We can each only speak honestly from our own personal experience, even though that experience may differ, and that is good as long as it is not done with prejudice.

I was the USA, Canada distributor, for Radar systems, Inc, manufacturers of the ZOND GPR. They are manufactured in Latvia, not Italy.

I have never had any contact or experience with OKM, so I cannot comment on on their advertising policies

The OKM, Rover-C  I used, is an E/M instrument that works on a receive only principle. It does not transmit frequencies such as a GPR, or send an electrical impulse to the sensor, such as in a magnetometer. I understand from the OKM advertising that a weak magnetomer is included as an added feature in some OKM products. I have not used it.

There is rumor that Accurate Locators. in the USA was taken to court for inaccurately  advertising  the OKM, E/M,  to be a GPR.  It was a matter of geophysical terminology although the intended results are similar, the geophysical application of electronics & physics, is entirely different.

Just a suggestion, perhaps folks might be interested in a Geophysics forum?

With kindest regards, Dell

I just love these ads as they're educational  and humorous if nothing else. I just learned there was a new machine called the "bionic alpha" where they claim it interacts with the bioenergy of your own body during the localization of gold and.............
