RO, please kindly  note that I was just reprimanded by the moderator for using the word "Dowsing" in the discussion of LRL's, although I was making a distinction between the use of the two methods.

Then Carl, follows up his post using the word Dowsing in reference to LRL technology I have used, and now you have used the word Dowsing twice in reference to LRL.

 Sad  I'm sorry, RO, in this case your observation appears to be more prejudice, than  rational minded. FYI, No electronic aids are necessary when using psychic locating methods.

Micron particles are a common nuisance to every type of LRL. Unfortunately,  sellers fail to inform their customers of this, and other  limitations associated with this type of locating, nor are the limitations usually stated in the manufacturers instruction manuals.

Some LRL manufacturers refer to the detection of micron particles as "False Signals" and add an electronic control (for a higher price) that will eliminate false signals.  Regrettably, The LRL consumer has pretty much been left on their own to learn the problems and limitations themselves.

As a result of the LRL's sensitivity to microscopic particles, thousands of so-called empty holes have been dug by uninformed LRL users that did not see a visible target, and once the particles are dispersed the detected target "field" fades out and disappears. This is a valid argument against buying, or using  MFD & LRL's.

A suggestion I can give is,never attempt to dig a signal that is not consistent in location, size, and "Strength of field".

There are characteristics to a Signal line, and target, that can help you determine the difference between  the "field" of  solid target, and micron particles that can be learned.  I use a  simple "weight Chek" module that nulls out the volume of the target "field"  on the Signal line, that helps me quickly determine if a target is worthwhile pursuing.

There is  a lot more to understanding how the LRL, or MFD works, than I have time, or interest, to post on this forum.

Thanks Dell;

We've used weight cancellation and a lot of things. I am pretty sure this is a Spanish or early pirate cache and may have NADA balls around it on top of the micro gold. I've seen them before and until you dig a couple up things are weird. We found a chain link that had been packed with dirt and put in a fire. When we knocked the dirt out of it, it lost signal.
