There's a couple of old LRLs for sale on ebay right now, if anyone is interested. I've never heard of the Detectron. Sue

tinker-rasor detectron web site

Judging from their products it may be a older model pipe and cable locater.

It takes 67.5 volt batteries.

Thanks Oro,
Yes, you most certainly are quite right about their use, so pardon me . . but that 7 11 name made me think luck & TH. I looked around and found some info on the detectron and they made those old popular 1950s uranium detectors, too. This site is a bit humorous. Sue

At least these uranium detectors are based on scientific principals whereas the LRLs aren't.

Looks like early models of a 2-box detector. Notice the tuning.

I have one of the old radiation detectors, Precision model 1060 'Lucky Strike". Tube Type electronics really suck up the batteries. They use expensive 67.5 volt batteries.

The Detectron folks have good prices on their new stuff.

The M-scope Explorer I could find less info on. Does anyone know what kind of batteries it uses. It must be one of their early machines.

Hello~
A bit of trivia that might interest you about Detectron.  The model(s) you were looking at, were made by a fascinating man, J.Lawrence "Larry" Cassingham.   He and his partner sold the metal detecting part of the business to T&R in 1961, when my dad worked for them.  Later, my father bought the company, and they continue to manufacture under that logo, along with several other models.  My dad, while having a long and honored history in corrosion, was more of a salesman.  Mr. Cassingham was not only the developer of the first portable geiger counter, but a really great character among the entrepreneurs of his era.  His son Curt has a great website about his inventions..and great anecdotes that connect him to Hollywood as an advisor in SciFi/Horror films!  Anyway...thought you might like THAT little bit of 'treasure', without having to hunt for it.
All the best...
