Just some input on the OP's question about a dog being able to sense an electromagnetic energy in an unpowered RF circuit...

There is always some (albeit very minor) reflected energy across an unpowered antenna or even a transmission line in the form of standing waves. A tunable pre-selector in a short wave radio receiver demonstrates this fact.

Can dogs' sense EMF? I have no idea. Even if they can, that doesn't mean they could sense it at such low receive-only levels. But there is definitely *some* EM energy output even in passive mode.

Given some dogs sensitivity to weather-related phenomenon as well as their ability to sense seizures in their owners before they occur, I guess nothing would surprise me. Whatever they're sensing in those situations, it would have to be incredibly weak.

I admire your positive attitude and open mindedness. It is the magnetic component that dowsers/LRL users detect up with L-rods. I read that if you reverse the magnetic polarity across a dog's brain it is like an anesthetic, the dog will go unconscious. So dogs are definitely very suseptible to magnetic fields.

I don't know if you read that article in the link, but they talk about "The tuned circuit in a crystal radio is not a bandpass filter: it is an energy suction device!" One LRL proponent said they used to use crystal radios to find mineral deposits. He said they listen for a popping or crackling sound when walking over the deposit.

The link also mentions about "portable AM radios already employ tuned resonant loop antenna...", so the walkie talkie is the same. and of course the Raven LRL has an AM circuit in it.

Where did you read that bit about dogs?

I'd have to go look for the book. It was a study done. Recently I read how scientists genetically altered some fuit flies (I think) so they lost their magnetic sense, then they took some protein from a human eye (think it was called cryptochromes) and put it in the fruit flies and they regained their magnetic/homing sense. There's a lot of misinformation out there claiming only a few animals have the magnetic sense. Dogs and cats have been known to have the homing instinct--some have traveled hundreds of miles-but most people do not think they have the magnetic ability. I read about some fish that were trained to have the magnetic sense. It might well be that humans need training, too. Most people need weeks of practice before they can locate with L-rods. I call it a learned awareness but it might be that the right side brain actually grows new connections. Of course this is not going to happen in twenty minutes like some who believe they are superior have said. They have to go into the trenches just like everyone else.

I don't want to post which book this came from as someone might use it to hurt some animal or person. But it says "Several biomagnetic investigations have verified..."

O come on Mike this thread was getting interesting being followed by lots of folks several mods included. Now you want to start with the smoke and mirror stuff again?
