Just in case some members would someday go up North and MD in Quebec, this is a link to identification of bottles from the 1900s. They include beer, milk, medication, ginger beer, round bottom bottles etc.

I do remember having seen big bottles of cola in my youth that were not shown on that web page. One had a big black lady sort of like Aunt Jemima (on the waffles boxes of the same name brand) and the other had a elephant. Both were molded, not painted and probably pre-date 1960.

I don't think they were only found in Quebec (I believe they were not).
