I have a Budweiser bottle that I got from the same lady.

I know that was bottled by CONSUMERS  B.B.E. out of Charleston, S.C.

Below that is reads, "THIS BOTTLE NOT TO BE SOLD"

On the back it has the Anheuser Busch Eagle and on the bottom below that in small letters A. B. CO.

Besides the funky coating on the outside of the bottle.  I have tried scrubbing it off and rubbing it down with "GOOF OFF"!   Nothing!

What year is the bottle from?

Look under the base of the bottle. Sometimes the date is embossed there.

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.

Is what's stamped on the bottom.  I wouldn't think Jan 1909 would be correct.  It has a "bottle cap" top.  When did bottle caps come into vogue?

Look here for a history of the Anheuser-Busch company. About half way down the page is a section on their bottles which were first used in the 1870s. You could be correct on your date.
