Go Up Go Down

Seldom, following a signal from my MD and upon removing the metallic trash, I found two bottles, one is a half pint (still cleaning it) and this 7.5" bottle that had a lid, but I see it a little too small for the mouth of the bottle, so maybe not the original lid? I noted the feel of oil on the lid, so I assume it was an oil bottle left behind a long time ago after a picnic. Both bottles were kind of deep, about 10-12" and there were other broken bottles as well. The bottle has no markings at all, but the half pint may give a clue as to how old it could be. Probably 50s-60s?

The half pint bottle is 40's - 60's looks like it has the federal warning on the back. The other one looks like a sauce bottle from yep the 40's but thats not the top for it so may have been recycled as a oil bottle of some type.

Yes, the 1/2 pint has the Federal warning on the back. Both bottles were found in an old picnic grove. Thank you Seldom. I was thinking of opening that plug again to see if more bottles are buried deeper  Wink

Oh, my grandma used to sent me to the convenient store to buy kerosene in all kind of glass containers. Yeah, recycling is not a new concept after all  Wink
