Go Up Go Down

I found this bottle at a late 19th century farm house in North Texas.  I posted this pictures along with some others on another site that I am a member of.  Someone replied telling me that this bottle is worth 300.00 to 800.00 US dollars.  I really hope this is not a cruel joke.  If so, he should be banned from the forum.  Hopefully somebody here can help me.  I'm very much an amatuer.  All I can say is that it is most likely pre 1900 because the seam stops at the neck.  Thanks everyone!

Its a pickle, pepper or relish jar the same type of jars were used for several products over the years. Worth?Huh?Huh? What you can get for it. If I had it in my shop I would price it at 15 to 25 bucks, the bottle market is way down and has been for several years. The people quoting high prices are watching to much road show.

Seldom's on the nose.....Cheesy
We find a lot of them while dump digging, around Dallas.
It sometimes seems that if people did not put ketchup on something they used relish, pickles, mustard, hot sauce......anyway yeah it's a condiment bottle.

That "digging show" with the ex-wrestler has some real problems with just how much those guys think that stuff is worth.......
I think they are just unrealistic on just what they are asking for some of the stuff they come up with.......
If some of those people actually pay that much for some of that stuff they "find".
I have a lot of good junk/stuff they can buy from me and I am not asking half what they paid!!!!!!

Out4Gold is so right about pricing not only on that show but all the shows that appraise antiques and collectables. In my opinion the Road show is the worst about over pricing stuff. We get folks every week in the shop that say I want to sale XXXXXX the road show said its worth  XXXXXXXXXXXX when it is only worth xx.

Guys beware of pricing stuff along the lines quoted on TV go to the price guides and do your own research most guides are a little high also but at least they are close to realistic.

Bottom line.....something is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it assuming you're willing to sell it to them for that price.   If  you aren't, then it is worth more than that price, but only to you.
