It sort of looks like a bottle to me.

I would say a medicine bottle or old perfume bottle. I find a bunch here in town because we have a old bottle dump next to the river that always washes out new stuff all the time...Warren

My, my. That's twice you have done that now. First, you never asked what kind of bottle it is, which is what I suspect you really want to know. Then, when asked if there were OTHER marks on it, you simply chose to remind us that it has #12 on the bottom instead of saying that there were no other marks. I'll also remind you that you did NOT ever say it was a bottle. Hence my comment.

Do you really want help or not?

Here's an idea. Go on over to the New User area and introduce yourself first. Then ask about your bottle. It's a bit more sociable that way.

I  see you are in southern Onatrio. Me too! I can help ya out with that! Its a super common sauce or perfume! Was there more coming out of the ground or was it just the one? Shards of glass or pottery? Try digging deeper you may have found a spot  Smiley Im down by Port Dover do you dig often?

Ace of Spades I just started metal detecting really but i have a very experienced guy showing me the ropes but i've been going out every day now and just yesterday i found a giant pocket/cache i pulled out 36 pennies 1984-53 in a 1m square area

and about that spot there was everything found bones (dog) and pottery shards glass charcoal but the hole was getting too big and i didn't want the owner to get mad for digging a big hole (i had his permission of course but it was getting really big)

No worry. I just love a good question. You know, Gig, sometimes the letters just fall off your screen and land on your desk. Look under the pencil cup and see if they're there.
