Cobalt Collectors?
LarryB:
Hi folks, I was just wondering if there are any Cobalt glass lovers out there? I love old blue glass bottles, jars, etc. I've been fortunate enough to come across a few old bottle dumps in the last twenty years or so. At the time, I had been hunting for Partridge (Grouse) when I discovered them. Needless to say, the little brown birds had to play second fiddle to the wonderful old treasures that lay at my feet. Now, years later, I've only kept a small portion of what I once had, and most of them are blue. I also have a few of the "Pony" style Insulators from yesteryear as well. No blue ones but a half dozen or so, aquas and greens.
Anyway, here's a shot of a small group of cuties for you to scope out. Does it put any kind of a smile on your face? 8)
Chow 4 now,
LarryB

Well thank you to all for the kind comments! :) Dr.D, yer quick, and right too, the technique is called, Whack-A-Thug! ;D That's why I like my ol' "heavy metal", trusty, silver sniffin clunker Tesoro, so much. :D More wallap than those whimpy plastic units around everywhere these days. ::)
Sweet Sue, do you have any Cool Cobalts? Anyone else have a picture or two to share here or elsewhere on these boards? :)
Thanx again folks for the nice words...

Blue Sky malt liquor is about it. Too many people have enjoyed target practice around here so I only find pieces. Sue

Larry; The wife and I have been collecting cobalt blue glass for about 26 years. I don't have any pics right now, but as time permits I'll try to take a few and will post them here.

Hi SS, too bad about all those dorks out there that think it's fun to shoot or smash up kool old bottles. I've cursed them myself many times in the past for their dirty deeds. Are these the same kinds of jerks that steal lawn ornaments, shoot protected songbirds, grab women's purses? It's very unfortunate for those of us who care, that there are quite a number out there, that haven't got a clue about much of anything and have to get their jollies by doing destructive deeds to make at least some kind of a little blip on their boring, flat-line lives. >:(
Turns out though that's one of the reasons I love this beautiful cobalt glass so much. The stuff is really quite rare these days. Being so visable in most old bottle dumps, they are usually the first ones to get murdered. :( So when I score one or two here and there, after a lot of pokin' around, it makes me appreciate them even more.
Oro, you must have a pretty wild collection after that many years! 8) Lookin' forward to seeing some of your pics in here in the future.
