A "Civil War Bridge" in destroyed 1650?
That date would pre date the Revolutionary War, of 1776.
Check your local historical society and repost this thread.
I'm sure you are mistaken, after all the Civil War was durring the period of 1860-1865 was it not?

Out4Gold think he is talking about the civil war in England

The English Civil War started in 1642 when Charles I raised his royal standard in Nottingham. The split between Charles and Parliament was such that neither side was willing to back down over the principles that they held and war was inevitable as a way in which all problems could be solved. The country split into those who supported the king and those who supported Parliament ? the classic ingredients for a civil war.

Out4gold:
Duh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I did not even think as to which civil war.
When I think of civil war I think of the war between the states.
Thank you for enlightening my pathways to knowledge.
Seldom you are one bright cookie.

Out4gold, don't be too hard on yourself----I'm a history nut and have been since I was in my teens.   I even have the equivalent of a major in history, and I still have to keep reminding myself that the term "The Civil War" means different things to people in different parts of the world.  (although for native English speakers, it will usually mean either the American Civil War or the English Civil War).   Besides, the English Civil War is an important part of our American history too.
