I've had an interest in old bottles for several years and have started learning about them. I have a few and some of them are worth a little money. I have access to a place that should contain a lot of them if I'll get off my lazy butt and do some looking. Here are a few of mine.

Bill those are Cool , all the bottles I have found around here are Broken ones :'(
Only found one intact and buried in the ground with the lid on it , which is how the MD found it, and it was just a plain glass Mason Jar , Nothing Purdy like yours !!

Hi Mildbill , nice glass. I notice all the tops seem to be very similar.
I came across a whole lot of glass bottles a few weeks back in a very wealthy area
and near a walking track > 50meters !! Just have to go back with a back pack and news paper and start collecting. Lots of good ones just on the surface 8)

Great question, Karl, thanks for asking.
The bottles pictured are Hutchison bottles. They date from, roughly 1880- 1908. They did not have corks in them. If you will look at the Coal Gate bottle, you can barely make out what was used to seal the bottle. It is a u-shaped piece of galvanized wire with a round disc on the bottom of it. The disc had a rubber washer on it and when pulled up, created a pretty effective seal. To drink, you pushed the wire down, to about the position shown and to re-seal the bottle, you simply pulled it back up.
Indian Territory became Oklahoma, the 46th State, in 1907.

Well (Mild) not wild Bill,
It seem that flasherr and myself both want to go out there with ya.
We sometimes dig in an old dump site in Dallas with an Irving Texas police officer.
Brian and myself would be happy if you were to invite us out your way.
I see you are not too far from us. He is in Denton and I am in Irving Tex.
BTW: The name soda "Pop" came from the distinctive sound
the seal made when the stopper was depressed rapidly.
I have never found one intact, with the stopper in place, but I
purchased some at a church sale once upon a time (A REAL BARGAIN)
at .50 cents each! I bought them all!
The previous owner had passed away and his family had donated his entire collection. I ran out of cash that day. I bought lots of his stuff.
Some of them did indeed have the seal intact and would to this day seal.
I posted them on another forum a couple of years back.
I'll make the attempt to post them here as well.
